Abstract

From his early years as a boy in small-town Poland to his ascent through the church hierarchy, this presentation seeks to unpack why many refer to now Saint Pope John Paul II (1920-2005) as the “man of the century.” In this presentation, participants will be introduced to the moral vision of Saint John Paul II with a particular focus given to the distinctions and connections made between the human person (antrhopology), the human family (sexuality), and human creativity (work). In addition, a new opportunity for engagement before the session will be offered. At the time of registration, participants may download some manageable reading selections from some of John Paul II’s well-known writings. Preparation before the session is welcome but certainly not required in order to register and attend.
