Abstract
In researching the origins and development of Eucharistic reservation, it is evident that the style and place of reserving the Eucharist has changed considerably over the centuries. In addition, the theology behind this practice has gone through a variety of shifts. Eucharistic reservation became a topic several Councils and documents addressed in an effort to more clearly define its purpose, as well as establish appropriate guidelines for parishes to follow.
