Abstract
This paper focuses on the spirituality of Black people from traditional African religious beliefs, on the spirituality of slaves in slave communities, and on contemporary black worship. The paper explains how traditional African religious beliefs and the spirituality of the slaves contributed to the formation of African-American spirituality.
