Abstract
This examination begins with a look to the Russian sophiologist, Sergei Bulgakov and his application of the Wisdom/Sophia tradition of the Jews and early Christians to the modem understanding of Christology. Though developed completely independently from Russian sophiology, which is pervaded with an androcentric bias, feminist theology can apply some of the more positive aspects of sophiology--utilizing part of the Christian tradition to facilitate an understanding of the feminine divine.
