Abstract
Inculturation has been a very crucial issue for the Church in China during the so-called Chinese Rites Controversy and it has seriously affected the development of the Chinese church in China even today. The purpose of this paper is to examine the possibilities of inculturation of Christianity in Chinese culture from a historical and cultural angle, to explore the historical evidence and the cultural heritage of the Chinese people so that one can draw lessons from the past and give perspectives for the future in terms of evangelization.
