Abstract
Jesuit Father Bruce Morrill holds the Edward A. Malloy Chair in Roman Catholic Studies at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN), where he is Distinguished Professor of Theology in the Divinity School and Graduate Department of Religion.
Vatican II launched “the reform and promotion of the Liturgy” to invigorate “the Christian life of the faithful.” Review of liturgical elements from the ancient church recovered in the Mass of Paul VI (or Novus Ordo) will show how they altogether form participants for lives of service, our “spiritual worship” (Rom 12:1).
