Abstract

The process of designing and making props. (In this particular case props that were made for she loves me).

This poster titled “She Loves Me – Prop Making” by Garrett West presents a detailed visual overview of the process used to design and construct theatrical props.

The poster is arranged as a presentation board with multiple labeled photographs documenting each stage of the process.

On the left side of the board, the images show early construction steps. These include examples of reference boxes, cutting leather materials, and applying adhesive through hot gluing. Additional images show leather being shaped and attached, as well as the early assembly of small box structures. Each of these steps is labeled with small printed captions that describe the action being performed.

On the right side of the board, the images show later stages of construction. These include measuring wood pieces, cutting materials to size, assembling structural components, and creating signs. Some of the labels on this side include instructional phrases such as “Measure Twice… Cut Once” and other step-based descriptions that guide the building process.

In the center of the board, the poster displays examples of completed props. These include a printed label designed for wine bottles, pieces of fake historical currency created to match a specific time period, and a printed cocktail menu. The menu contains multiple drink names and ingredients presented in small, dense text.

Across the board, each photograph is accompanied by a small caption that identifies the step or technique being shown, helping to guide the viewer through the process from beginning to end.

Overall, the poster communicates the full workflow of prop creation, beginning with raw materials and reference objects, continuing through cutting, shaping, and assembly, and ending with finished props used in a theatrical production.
