Abstract
We discuss how media can influence violence against women. For this, we examined social media, TV, and pornography. We reviewed past research and gained insight from fellow students and staff around campus. A quote from our podcast, describes it best - “Women are either fuckable or invisible.” This line depicts the problematic male gaze that is discussed throughout the podcast, and the trap women often feel in order to be acknowledged. Our peers shared their experiences with media with us, and how they see media’s messages affecting their lives.
