Abstract

I illustrated the scene of two cardinals sitting on tree branches because, spiritually, cardinals are signs of love and hope. Love and hope are what I held onto this year to help me through difficult times.

This image shows a detailed black-and-white illustration of two stylized cardinals perched on tree branches. The branches extend diagonally across the composition and overlap to form a layered structure.

One bird appears on the left side of the image, smaller in size and facing toward the right. The second bird is larger and positioned on the right side, facing toward the left. Both birds are perched on separate branches that intersect near the center of the image.

Each bird is filled with intricate decorative patterns, including geometric shapes, curved lines, dots, and repeating textures that create a patchwork appearance across their bodies. The birds have large rounded eyes and pointed beaks.

The branches also contain repeating patterns such as dots, stripes, and diagonal lines. The background is plain, emphasizing the contrast between the detailed line work and the empty space.
