Abstract
Although one may argue about the historicity of Peter's denials, it seems to the present author that that issue is of little significance here. The intent of this paper is otherwise:
1. We will look at the four accounts of Peter's denials and attempt comparisons and contrasts.
2. We will challenge the basic assumption of redaction-critic Norman Perrin that the Second Gospel's account of the denials is the basis for the Fourth Gospel's account.
3. We will review some Patristic evidence concerning the sin of Peter.
