Volume 2, Issue 1 (2018)

This online issue of the JSE continues to explore peacebuilding, particularly in a global context, looking at possibilities and challenges in Nigeria, Uganda, Somalia, and Kenya. The issue begins with Dr. Mary Hinton acknowledging that the recognition of, and addressing of, underlying causes and structural inequalities is challenging and complex. However, reducing conflict, guaranteeing rights, and building positive intergroup relations is necessary for the common good, and this issue of The Journal of Social Encounters recognizes the spaces we provide, or fail to provide, each other, both globally and domestically. It also debuts book reviews, a new addition to The Journal of Social Encounters.
