Abstract

What obligations do we have to our fellow humans and non-human nature in times of ecological distress? How might faith communities respond to the impacts of global climate disruption? In recent years many Christian communities have embraced models of stewardship or “creation care” that link faith and environment directly to theology and mission. This presentation will offer a framework for discussing such questions by exploring connections between faith and action in light of climate change, global inequality, and theological statements such as Laudato Si’ and the Evangelical Climate Initiative.
