Abstract

Matt Harkins and Tony Cunningham lead a Grand Illuminations conversation on what it means to be "real." Nobody wishes to be seen as a fake, a phony, a pretender, or an impostor. People tend to admire "authentic" people, but "authentic," like "real," is also vague and complex. Thus, the thoughtful conversation pursues a slippery everyday ideal.
