Abstract
Dan McKanan will present some of his research on communities affiliated with the Catholic Worker and Camphill movements, focusing particularly on the ways these communities preserve their spiritual identities while welcoming individual members who may not share those identities. Such communities, he contends, offer an instructive example to colleges and universities that seek to maintain both a Christian identity and an inclusive community.
