Abstract

The African National Congress assumed power in South Africa in 1994 after years spent as a rebel movement with a significantly revolutionary ideology. This presentation explores the political evolution of the ANC during its years of state power. My research focuses on the compromises made by the ANC and how they affect its ability to carry out its historic program of transformation.
