Abstract
Prayer life is one of the indispensable elements of Christian life. As other spiritual writers, Evagrius also writes on the subject of prayer. As a matter of fact, his whole monastic life and spirituality is laid out in his treatise on prayer. His cosmology and anthropology are not only closely related; both also give the basic framework for his spirituality. Throughout this paper, the journey toward the place of God is explored.
In conclusion, Evagrius describes the journey toward the place of God in three stages: practice, physique, and theologike. Pure prayer, which is above all perception and all concepts, is the essence of mind and image of the perfect Image (Imago Dei).
