Abstract
hat we have here is an episodic story. At the beginning, we find the narrator sitting inside somewhere looking out a window. He sees a little girl looking in the window. Thinking of her, there is a jump to a scene with a little boy waking scared in bed. From then on the episodes move through time to the end where the narrator is still sitting. The image he sees at the end is identical to the one he saw at the beginning, but his attitude towards what he sees has changed as he moved through the episodes of the stories which are, more or less, his memories.
