Abstract
Pressure injuries are an ongoing problem for people over the age of 65 who have chronic comorbid conditions. Many interventions have been implemented to decrease pressure injuries. Pressure injuries cause pain and can lead to medical issues including sepsis and death. The cost of pressure injuries is high due to the medical complications that result from the pressure injury. Client repositioning is an extremely important intervention to prevent pressure injuries. Risk assessment is also important in order to identify clients at risk to support early interventions. This quality improvement project focused on educating staff and implementing best practices to prevent pressure injuries.
