Abstract
The newly translated Roman Missal, scheduled to be introduced in Advent 2011, offers a wonderful opportunity to renew and revitalize our sung prayer. Following the liturgical ideals promoted by the Holy See and the United States’ Bishops, the Missal will be laid out to encourage sung liturgy. The music for sung dialogues and responses between priest, deacon, or cantor and congregation will appear in place within the Order of Mass rather than in the appendix. Every Preface will be fully notated.
