Abstract

I will look at the Son of Man sayings in John's Gospel and try to ascertain how the evangelist was influenced by earlier Christian traditions or by the Son of Man language in the religious environment. First of all I will give an overview of the thinking of various Johannine scholars and then proceed to support the position that John knew the Synoptic position but he developed his own unique concept within the context of his Christology.
