Abstract

This Paper examines Luke 24:13-27 in four steps. First, the Paper briefly sketches the general context of the Lucan community and the structure of the post-resurrection narrative. Second, the passage is discussed with respect to the contributions of various types of Biblical criticism. Third, the paper undertakes a close reading of the narrative, using the text of the 27th edition of the Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece. Fourth, the Paper concludes by drawing some theological observations which surface from the close reading.
